Jennifer Wang Ties for 13th at Hoya Invitational

Wang leads Lions with 16-over-par 77-79-76-232 as Columbia finishes in ninth place.

ROCKVILLE, Md. Jennifer Wang finished in 13th place with a 16-over-par 77-79-76-232 and the Columbia women's golf team concluded the three-round Hoya Invitational in ninth place Sunday at Woodmont Country Club. The 54-hole event was played at the Woodmont Country Club North Course. Final results are available on golfstat at this link.
 
Columbia concluded the tournament at 89-over-par 322-315-316-953.
 
Wang vaulted up the leaderboard on Sunday. She started the day in 25th place and moved up 12 spots after carding a 76 while shooting one birdie and 12 pars. Saturday's two rounds saw Wang finish with two birdies. Wang's 76 was Columbia's lowest score of the day.
 
Placing second on the Lions was Paige Harrison, who moved up 13 spots into 30th place after shooting a 21-over-par 80-80-77-237. Harrison moved up 12 spots after beginning the day in 43rd place. Her 77 on Sunday included 13 pars.
 
Florio finished the tournament in 38th place with a 13-over-par 80-75-85-240. Her 75 in Saturday's second round marked Columbia's lowest round of the weekend.
 
Rounding out the Lions scorers were Anne Walsh, who took 56th place with a 31-over-par 85-83-79-247 and Christine Shao, who tied for 60th place at 34-over-par 85-81-84-250.
 
Boston U. won the team competition after shooting a 51-over-par 309-297-309-915, while Boston U's Christy Chen and Princeton's Kyung Eun Lee tied for the individual title at eight-over-par.
 
The Hoya Invitational featured 13 teams and 69 players including Boston U., Columbia, host Georgetown, Harvard, Howard, Princeton, Quinnipiac, Seton Hall, Stetson, St. John's, Penn, Towson, and Yale.
 
Woodmont Country Club is a 6,125-yard, par-72 course. More information on the course is available at this link. Woodmont Country Club was home to the prestigious 120th U.S. Women's Amateur Championship in 2020 and has been a site for the US Open and US Women's Open sectional qualifiers.
 
Next up for Columbia is the 2022 Ivy League Championship, which is scheduled for Friday, April 22-Sunday, April 24 at The Ridge at Backbrook in Ringoes, N.J.
