NEW YORK – The Columbia women's soccer team will wrap up its home slate Saturday against Yale as the Lions will celebrate senior day at Rocco B. Commisso Soccer Stadium. Join us at 12:55 p.m. for the senior day recognition ceremony. The seniors will be recognized again on the field briefly before first kick at 2 p.m.
THE MATCHUP
The Lions are 7-3-3 overall and 1-2-2 in Ivy League play this season coming off a 1-0 loss to Brown last Saturday. Columbia currently sits in fifth place in the Ivy League standings and is looking for a strong finish to the regular season to move into the top four and clinch a spot in the Ivy League Tournament.
Yale is 5-4-5 overall and winless in Ivy League play at 0-3-2. The Bulldogs enter the matchup coming off back-to-back 1-1 draws against Cornell and Boston. Ellie Rappole leads the team in scoring with six goals this season. She is also credited with two assists. Anita Thorvaldsdottir follows with four total goals this season. Marisa Shorrock has been the primary keeper in the net as she has allowed 14 goals this season and tallied 51 saves in 11 starts.
Columbia is 10-20-6 all-time against Yale, but the Lions have won three of the last four matchups. Columbia won three straight between 2018 and 2021 before Yale took last year's contest, 1-0.
LION LEADERS
Kat Jordan leads the Lions with five goals this season. She also has two assists as she leads the team with 12 total points.

Shira Cohen each are credited with three goals. Goalkeeper
Paige Nurkin has led the effort in the net as she has played in 12 games and allowed just six goals. She has tallied 41 saves with six wins.
LIONS IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Nurkin is currently No. 24 in the nation in goals against average with a .545 rating. She also ranks 16
th in the nation in save percentage at .872.
As a team, Columbia is No. 8 in the nation in goals against average with a .462 average. The Lions are No. 10 in save percentage at .878. Columbia is also No. 15 in shutout percentage with eight shutouts through 13 games.

The women's soccer team will recognize its 12 seniors before the start of Saturday's game.

The senior class has a combined record of 23-14-7 and a home record of 15-5-3. The seniors helped lead the program to season high No. 29 RPI ranking. The Lions also checked in at No. 22 in the Top Drawer National Rankings earlier this season and have been consistently ranked in the United Soccer Coaches East Region Rankings.
