BOSTON, Mass. — The Columbia cross country teams competed in the 2023 Ivy League Cross Country Heptagonal Championships on Saturday afternoon, hosted by Harvard at Franklin Park in Boston. The women finished fourth in the competition with 92 points, while the men finished in seventh with 182 points.
The star of the show for the Lions was
Phoebe Anderson, who earned a silver medal in the women's 6k with a time of 20:22.2. For the top-eight finish, Anderson was named First Team All-Ivy.
Elia Ton-That also received First Team All-Ivy recognition with a fifth-place finish and time of 20:51.0.
Rounding out the top-15 for the women was
Nikki Vanasse, who finished with a time of 21:31.9.
Pacing the men was
Talha Syed, who clocked in with a time of 25:01.4 in the 8k which was good for 24th place.
In addition, both Syed and Anderson received Academic All-Ivy recognition.

The Ivy League season is now complete for Columbia. Next up, the Lions will send a team to compete at the NCAA East Regionals, which will be hosted at Van Cortlandt Park for the second straight year on Friday, November 10. The meet will begin at 11:00 a.m.
