
Columbia Welcomes in No. 19 Duke Tuesday, Towson Thursday

Lions to host a non-conference top-25 opponent for the first time
NEW YORK – The Columbia women's basketball team (1-1) plays two home games in three days this week, hosting No. 19 Duke on Tuesday at 6 p.m., followed by Towson on Thursday at 7 p.m. Both games will serve as the first all-time matchups between the programs.
GAME COVERAGE
• Both games this week will be streamed live on ESPN+ and the ESPN app. Live stats will be provided by GoColumbiaLions.com. Live updates will also be posted to the Columbia women's basketball team's social media accounts (@CULionsWBB).

• Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets ahead of time by visiting GoColumbiaLions.com/Tickets. Fans can also purchase tickets on-site at the ticket window, located at the main entrance on the southeast corner of 120th and Broadway.
GAME PROMO
• Thursday's women's basketball game will benefit Girls on the Run in association with Gamma Phi Beta, a sorority on campus. All those who donate any amount will be entered to win a Columbia Prize Pack announced at the game.
WHAT TO KNOW:
LAST TIME OUT
• Columbia is coming off a 72-61 victory against Seton Hall in its 2023-24 home opener on Friday. The Lions went on a 6-0 run to take a three-point lead entering the fourth quarter. Still leading by as many with 2:35 remaining, Columbia scored the game's final eight points to put away their first victory of the season.
• Abbey Hsu led all players with 21 points and also grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. Cecelia Collins added 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting to go with six rebounds. Kitty Henderson posted 11 points, six boards and four assists. Paige Lauder pitched in 10 points off the bench, going 4-of-5 from the floor.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
• Abbey Hsu was named Ivy League Player of the Week for games played November 6-12. She averaged 22.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals over the first two games of the season. Hsu ranks No. 2 in the Ivy League in both scoring and rebounding, as well as top 10 in steals.
• The Ivy League Player of the Week Award was the eighth of Hsu's career, putting her in the top 15 in Ivy League history. She is two behind Camille Zimmerman '18CC and Judie Lomax '10BC for the most by a player from Columbia (10).
• Hsu broke the Ivy League's career 3-point record as part of her week. She broke the previous mark of 287 held by Harvard's Katie Benzan (2016-19) with her 288th career triple in the win over Seton Hall.

• Columbia is 4-0 in its last four games against opponents from the ACC. Last season, they defeated Syracuse in the WNIT and won the Miami Thanksgiving Tournament by defeating a Hurricanes team that went on to reach the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament. The year prior, Columbia topped Boston College in the WNIT and defeated Clemson on the road.||

• Columbia improved to an even 11-11 in its last 22 games against Power Six opponents.
• Columbia improved to 5-1 in its last six games against opponents from the Big East.

• Columbia hopes to win its first game against a team ranked inside the top 25 of either the Associated Press or Coaches Polls. The Lions are 0-12 all-time against the AP Top 25 (the WBCA Coaches Poll archive is not complete). Tuesday's opponent, Duke, enters the week ranked No. 19 in the WBCA Coaches Poll.
GRIFFITH HITS THE CENTURY MARK
• Head coach Meagan Griffith earned her 100th career win in Columbia's 72-61 victory over Seton Hall (Nov. 10). She is the program's all-time wins leader and is the 11th coach in Ivy League history to win 100 games at an Ivy League school.

• Duke (2-0) has had two dominant wins to begin the season, thumping Richmond, 83-53, and Coastal Carolina, 88-42. The 19th-ranked Blue Devils averaged a staggering 9.5 blocks in those two games, which is currently the No. 2 mark in the NCAA. Kennedy Brown and Camilla Emsbo are each averaging 3.00 blocks per game. Reigan Richardson leads the team in scoring at 17.0 points per game. Her 62.5-percent field goal percentage is top 100 in the NCAA.
• Towson (1-0) squeaked out a, 76-72, season-opening victory against UMBC on November 6. When they take on Columbia on Thursday, it will have been 10 days since the Tigers last played. They had five players score in double figures in the win against UMBC, led by Alexia Nelson's 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting. Towson was picked first in the CAA preseason poll. Last year, they posted a 21-12 record and 13-5 mark in the CAA, tying for the regular season title with Drexel and Northeastern. They fell in the CAA Championship Game against Monmouth.
