WHAT TO KNOW:
LAST TIME OUT
• Columbia is coming off its most lopsided victory of the season, blitzing Northeastern, 88-45, on Saturday. The Lions posted season-bests in scoring, points allowed, scoring margin (43), field goal percentage (.614), field goal defense (.304), 3-point percentage (.400), and blocked shots (5). Its 61.4-percent mark from the field ranks sixth in program history and was the sixth time Columbia has ever shot 60 percent or better.
• Abbey Hsu scored a game-high 26 points in the victory, 24 of which came in the first half to give the Lions a 50-27 lead at the break. Hsu made her 100th career start and sank her 300th career 3-pointer with 1:00 remaining in the first quarter. She is the fourth Lion to start at least 100 games in her career and the third active NCAA Div. I player with 300 made threes (Caitlin Clark, Iowa – 375; Dyaisha Fair, Syracuse – 334). Her 305 threes are an Ivy League record.

• Since Megan Griffith became the head coach in 2016, the Lions are 6-1 against opponents from the Big East Conference. Columbia got its first win in program history over a Big East opponent when it defeated the Friars in overtime, 66-64, on Dec. 7, 2016. Camille Zimmerman '18CC, the program's all-time leading scorer (1,973) and rebounder (940), scored the game-winning basket with 7.5 seconds left in OT.
• With a win over Seton Hall this season, as well as wins over Syracuse, Seton Hall and Miami last season, Columbia owns 11 wins in its last 25 games against power-six opponents. The span began in head coach Megan Griffith's first season leading the program in 2016 with an overtime win at home over Providence. The Lions opened the 2017-18 season by defeating the Friars on the road, 73-64. The Lions also earned their first ACC win that year when they defeated Boston College, 68-60, at Levien Gymnasium.

• Providence (3-3) is coming off a narrow, 73-67, loss at Penn State on Sunday. The Friars rallied from a 20-point deficit to take a five-point lead in the fourth quarter but PSU used an 8-0 run to regain the lead. PC got back within one, 63-62, with 1:22 left but the Nittany Lions went 8-of-8 at the foul line down the stretch to seal the victory. This will mark Providence's second game of the season against an Ivy League opponent, falling to Brown, 61-56, on November 15.
• Olivia Olsen (15.3) and Grace Efosa (12.2) are the team's leading scorers. Olsen, a 6-3 forward, is 67.3 percent from the field on the season, ranking No. 1 in the Big East and No. 11 in the NCAA. Olsen also leads the team on the glass at 7.8 rebounds per contest. Their leading 3-point shooter is Marta Morales Romero, who is shooting 41.2 percent from the outside but has just seven makes on the season. Providence only averages 3.5 made threes per game, which ranks 323rd out of 348 in the NCAA.
• This will be the third all-time matchup between Columbia and Providence. The Lions won the first, 66-64, in overtime at Levien Gymnasium in 2016. The two teams opened the 2017-18 season against each other in Providence, where the Lions also came out on top, 73-64. Camille Zimmerman '18CC scored a game-high 25 points in that contest.
