
Women’s Tennis Concludes ECAC Championships

The Lions finish in fourth place at the ECAC Championships
HANOVER, N.H. – Fatima Keita earned the lone point of the afternoon for the Lions as Columbia lost to Harvard, 4-1 in the third-place match of the ECAC Championships.
Harvard started the afternoon by winning the doubles point to grab the lead early. Rachel Arbitman and Iveta Daujotaite defeated the No. 60 duo of Anna Zhang and Sophia Wang at the No. 1 singles. Sophia Ho and Maxi Duncan then took down Rachele Rimondini and Sophia Strugnell, 6-3 at the No. 2 spot. Winta Tewolde and Michelle Xu defeated Charlotte Owensby and Angel You in the No. 3 doubles as the only Columbia win in doubles action.
Harvard's No. 75 Owensby posted a 6-4, 6-4 win over Anna Zhang at the No. 1 singles. Ducan defeated Rimondini, 6-1, 6-3 in the No. 2 spot. Sany Gawande earned a 7-5, 6-4 win against Tewolde in the No. 5 singles. Keita picked up the only singles win of the day for the Lions with a 7-6(4), 6-0 win over Iveta Daujotaite.
