
Women’s Tennis’ Match Against Hofstra Rescheduled for Sunday

NEW YORK – The Columbia women's tennis team's match against Hofstra, originally scheduled for February 19, will now be played this Sunday, February 26 at the Columbia Tennis Center. The contest will mark the first home contest in the new facility. First serve is slated for 11 a.m.
Fans attending the match must enter at the gate on 218th Street across from Seaman Avenue, and go through the main entrance. Doors will open at 10 a.m. Parking at the Baker Athletics Complex is extremely limited. For directions and additional parking information, please click here.
STARTING THE SEASON
The Lions are 2-5 this spring with wins against Morgan State and Yale. Sunday's match will be the first time back on the court since the Lions competed in the ECAC Championships on February 10-12.
The first-year Sophia Wang has made an impact for the Lions with two wins this spring. She clinched Columbia's win over Yale in the first round of the ECAC Championships with a thrilling three-set win over Vivian Cheng.
Sophomore Clarine Lerby and junior Rachele Rimondini have also picked up two wins each in singles action.
On the doubles side, the duo of Wang and Anna Zhang has been strong spot in the Lions' doubles lineup. The pair won five-straight doubles matches to open the season were ranked in the ITA's first doubles rankings of the season.
THE HOFSTRA MATCHUP
Hofstra is 1-2 on the season coming into the match after earning a 5-2 win over Marist last Saturday.
Columbia and Hofstra have a short history, only meeting in one previous match in 2012. The Lions posted a 7-0 win in the match.
