
No. 11 Lions Win on the Road at No. 44 Pepperdine

Columbia wraps up California trip with a match at No. 32 UCLA Thursday.
MALIBU, Calif. – The No. 11 Lions used another impressive performance in singles action to defeat No. 44 Pepperdine on the road Wednesday night.
With the win, Columbia notched its 10th win of the season and 10th-straight win. The Lions are now 3-0 on their spring break trip in California with one match to go.
Pepperdine opened the match by winning the doubles point to take the early lead. The Pepperdine duo of Maxi Homberg and Eero Vasa took a 6-3 win over Nicolas Kotzen and Max Westphal in the No. 2 doubles. Linus Halldin and Pietro Fellin then earned a 6-4 win against Roko Horvat and Alex Kotzen to secure the doubles point.
Pepperdine extended its lead to 2-0 to get singles play started. Tim Zeitvogel posted a 6-3, 6-1 win over No. 59 Horvat at the No. 2 singles.
The Lions answered back winning four-straight singles matches to complete the comeback. Alex Kotzen got the rally started with a three-set 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 win against Vasa in the No. 3 singles. No. 75 Westphal followed with a 6-4, 1-6, 6-2 win against Homberg in the No. 4 singles to tie the match, 2-2.
Nicolas Kotzen gave the Lions their first lead of the match as he posted a 5-7, 6-1, 6-4 win against Halldin in the No. 6 singles. No. 16 Michael Zheng clinched the match with a win over No. 65 Daniel De Jonge in the No. 1 singles. The first-year rallied back after losing the first set to take a 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 win.
