Ivy League Men’s Golf Championship Tees Off Friday

Seven-team event runs through Sunday at The Stanwich Club
NEW YORK — The Columbia men's golf team will tee off at the 2023 Ivy League Men's Golf Championship this Friday-Sunday at The Stanwich Club in Greenwich, Connecticut. The league's seven teams will begin the First Round on Friday at 10 a.m. ET.
Columbia's lineup for the championship will be announced when the Ivy League posts its first-round pairings Thursday evening. Leading Columbia through the 2022-23 season has been junior Nathan Han. The reigning Ivy League Men's Golfer of the Year boasts the ninth-best unadjusted stroke average in the nation (69.13) and averages 1.87 strokes under par through 23 rounds. In nine tournaments, Han owns eight top 10s, five top fives and four finishes of third or better. He won the Georgetown Intercollegiate in October.
DJ Francey owns the second-best stroke average on the team (72.00) with three top 10s and a top-five finish in eight tournaments this season. Sophomore Wyatt McGovern (72.86) is third with two top 10s and a top five to his credit.
Last year, Columbia rallied from fifth after day one and third after day two to finish in second place, just five shots behind Yale for the title. DJ Francey finished second individually and Nathan Han finished fourth, with both taking home Ivy League medals and earning First Team All-Ivy League honors. Francey and Han became just the second duo in school history to place in the top-5 of the Ivy League Championship in the same year, following Harrison Shih and Brandon Jowers, who achieved that distinction in 2014.
The top five individual finishes and ties from the event will be named First Team All-Ivy League. The next five individual finishers and ties will be named Second Team All-Ivy League.
The winning team will earn an automatic bid to represent the Ivy League at the 2023 NCAA Men's Golf Regionals, which will be held May 15-17. The 2023 NCAA Men's Golf Selection Show is scheduled for Wednesday, May 3 at 1 p.m. ET and will air live on the Golf Channel.
Pairings and first-round tee times will be released by the Ivy League following the introductory banquet Thursday evening. Fans can find pairings and follow live scoring throughout the weekend on Golfstat.
