Patterson will compete in semifinals of 3000m steeplechase on Thursday

AUSTIN, TEXAS — Victoria Patterson is set to represent the Columbia Track & Field team at the NCAA Championships in Austin, Texas this weekend. Patterson punched her ticket last week with a third place finish and time of 9:57.65 in the 3000m steeplechase at the NCAA Eastern Prelims held at the University of North Florida.

Patterson will first compete in the semifinals on Thursday, and will be looking to advance to the NCAA Finals on Saturday. 24 runners will be competing and split into two heats. The top-five times from each heat, along with the next two best times will compete for the NCAA Championship on Saturday.

The semifinals of the women's 3000m steeplechase is scheduled to begin at 9:02 p.m. on Thursday. If Patterson were to advance, the finals will be held at 9:24 p.m. on Saturday.
