
Men’s Golf Set to Host Autumn Invitational at Lake Placid

Ten teams set to compete in the annual fall tournament
NEW YORK — The Columbia men's golf team will host the Columbia Autumn Invitational this weekend at Lake Placid Club in Lake Placid, New York. The two-day, 54-hole event will be contested at the club's Links Course.
The tournament tees off with a shotgun start on Saturday at 8:45 a.m. The 10-team, 60-man field will play 36 continuous holes on Saturday, followed by the final 18 holes on Sunday. Lake Placid Club, Links Course will be set at 7,121 yards for all three rounds.
Teams competing this weekend include the host Lions, Cornell, Wagner, Dartmouth, Fordham, Sacred Heart, Manhattan, Colgate, Bryant and St. Thomas Aquinas. Columbia's lineup for the team event will consist of Nathan Han, DJ Francey, Darren Pang, William Sung and George Rubelsky. The Lions will also send Wyatt McGovern, Hunter Po and Alvin Kwak to compete as individuals.
Columbia has had an impressive start to the season, winning the 15-team Doc Gimmler (Sept. 9-10) at Bethpage Red, followed by a second-place finish out of 17 teams two weeks ago at the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Collegiate. At The Doc Gimmler, the Lions set new program records for both 36-hole and 54-hole scores, winning the tournament at 29-under-par 811. Nathan Han set the new individual 54-hole record, winning the tournament at 14-under-par 196 (64-64-68). The Lions also came in under par at the Ryan T. Lee (-6), led by DJ Francey's winning individual total of 8-under 134 (67-67). Francey (67.0) and Han (67.2) lead the Lions in stroke average through five rounds of competition.
