Lions look to bounce back and complete a season sweep against the Quakers
NEW YORK – The Columbia women's basketball team (12-5. 3-1 Ivy) will go for its second season sweep of Penn (10-7, 2-2 Ivy) in the last three years when it takes on the Quakers this Saturday at The Palestra. The game's opening tip is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET.

• Fans can purchase tickets ahead of time by visiting the Penn Athletics Ticket page. Fans can also purchase tickets on-site at the ticket window.

OPENING TIPS
• Last season, the Lions entered The Palestra riding high, having won 10 straight after just knocking off Princeton in overtime the day prior, 58-55. This year, the Lions visit the Cathedral of College Basketball after having a 10-game winning streak snapped last Saturday against the Tigers, 80-65. Abbey Hsu scored a game-high 21 points in defeat.
• This year's 10-game winning streak spanned from Nov. 25 - Jan. 15. The streak tied for the longest in program history, matching last year's streak that also began on Nov. 25, spanning through Jan. 6, 2023.
• Wooden & Naismith Trophy Award Watch List selection Abbey Hsu averages an Ivy League-leading 21.4 points per game, which ranks No. 13 in the NCAA. She is top 25 in the NCAA in total points (364) and total field goals (135), as well as No. 30 in 3-pointers made per game (2.71) and top 50 in total threes (46).
• Hsu was named a Top 10 Candidate for the 2024 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award on Tuesday, presented by the Naismith Hall of Fame and WBCA. The award recognizes the top shooting guard in the nation.
• Columbia enters the contest leading the Ivy League in 11 NCAA-ranked statistics, which includes scoring offense (76.6), scoring margin (+11.5), rebound margin (+5.5), field goal percentage (.449), 3-pointers made per game (8.1), assists per game (17.6), bench points per game (22.2) and assist/turnover ratio (1.09). LAST TIME OUT
• The Lions saw their 10-game winning streak come to an end last Saturday at Jadwin Gymnasium, succumbing to Princeton, 80-65.
• Columbia led 37-33 at halftime and were within three points, 60-57, after Hsu scored with 8:17 to go. Princeton then went on a 16-2 run over a span of more than seven minutes to take control.
• Columbia was led by a 21-point performance from Hsu, who was the lone starter to score in double figures. First-year Riley Weiss splashed in 12 points off the bench and junior point guard Kitty Henderson dished out a game-high seven assists.
Columbia outscored Princeton 15-4 over the final 2:45 of the first half to take a 37-33 lead into the locker rooms. They were outrebounding the Tigers, 14-12, at the time. Princeton finished +10 on the glass, 34-24.

• Princeton shot 55.9 percent from the field, the highest by an opponent since Jan. 31, 2020, when Yale shot 59.6 percent in an 85-60 victory at Levien Gymnasium (94 games ago).

• After an Ivy League-opening loss at Levien Gymnasium three weeks ago, 79-66, Penn rolled off two wins over MLK Weekend at Dartmouth, 53-39, and Cornell, 67-54. They are coming off a loss last Saturday at Harvard, 69-56, in which Harvard's Harmoni Turner scored a career-high 31 points and Katie Krupa scored a career-high 25 points.
• The Quakers are led by Stina Almqvist's team-high 15.9 points per game, ranking No. 4 in the Ivy League. Mataya Gayle (14.7) and Jordan Obi (14.4) rank sixth and seventh in the league in scoring, respectively. Obi (7.8) and Almqvist (6.4) head the effort on the glass. Obi's average ranks No. 3 in the Ivies. Gayle is the team's top threat from the perimeter with 28 makes, but she shoots just 27.2 percent from the outside. Obi is much more efficient at 21-for-57 on the season (.368).
• After losing 18 straight in the series against Penn from 2012-20, Columbia has won four of the last five match-ups since 2022.
