NEW YORK – The Columbia women's basketball team (3-1) looks for a bounce-back performance when it hosts the University of the Pacific (2-2) on Wednesday. Opening tip from Schiller Court at Levien Gymnasium is scheduled for 7 p.m.

• The Lions will be wearing gold laces as part of the Go4theGoal foundation's Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer initiative. The foundation raises funds and awareness for pediatric cancer research. • Senior point guard Kitty Henderson is eight points away from becoming the 15th 1,000-point scorer in program history. She also has 368 career assists, five behind head coach Megan Griffith for fifth in team history.
• Cecelia Collins had a career outing when the Lions defeated Pacific last year in California, 93-75. Collins scored a career-high 28 points, going 9-of-11 from the floor, 3-for-4 from long range and 7-of-8 at the foul line. Kitty Henderson had one of her five career double-doubles with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
• Columbia has won 15 consecutive regular season games at home. Their last loss was more than a calendar year ago, Nov. 14, 2023, against then-No. 22 Duke, 66-62.
• Entering this week, Kitty Henderson ranks No. 11 in the NCAA in total assists (24) and No. 25 in the NCAA in assists per game (6.0). She leads the Ivy League in both of those categories. Henderson is also the Ivy League leader in assist/turnover ratio (2.7), seventh in scoring (13.8) and top 10 in field goal percentage (.511).

• The Lions are coming off a heartbreaking, 68-67, loss on Saturday at Villanova. Columbia trailed by as many as 10 points in the fourth quarter. They came all the way back to tie the game on a Susie Rafiu layup with 12.2 seconds left. Riley Weiss then got to the free throw line with 1.4 seconds left and Columbia down a point, but unfortunately suffered her first two missed free throws of the season.
• Columbia is a combined 30-4 (.882) at home over the last two seasons.
• The Lions have won 15 straight regular-season games at home.
• Columbia went 14-1 (.933) at home during the 2023-24 regular season.

• The Lions earned their first NCAA Tournament appearance last season, receiving a 12 seed as an at-large bid, just the second at-large selection in women's basketball in Ivy League history (2016). They played in the First Four against Vanderbilt, falling in a close contest, 72-68.
• Columbia is coming off three straight 20-win seasons, posting overall records of 25-7 (2021-22), 28-6 (2022-23) and 23-7 (2023-24). The 2021-22 team earned the program's first bid to a postseason tournament in its Division I history. The following year, the Lions advanced all the way to the WNIT Championship Game against Kansas. Last season, they earned their first selection to the Big Dance. Prior to 2021, the Lions had never had a 20-win season in their Division I history (1986-pres.).
THE OPPONENT
• Pacific (2-2) will be taking the Ivy League's Columbia (Wednesday) and Yale (Sunday) on a two-game, six-day trip to New York City. So far this season, they own wins over NCAA Div. II Stanislaus State, 87-47, and Long Beach State, 81-65. The Tigers have fallen at Washington, 81-50, and most recently against Northern Arizona, 68-63. Last year, Pacific went 19-15, 8-8 WCC, advancing to the Second Round of the WNIT.
• The offense is led by three double-figure scorers in Elizabeth Elliott (13.3), Liz Smith (13.0) and Lauren Glazier (10.0). Elliott also leads the team in rebounding (7.0), ranks No. 2 in the WCC in field goal percentage (.611) and fifth in assists (4.5). Anaya James quarterbacks the offense at 5.8 assists per game, good enough for second in the conference, and leads the WCC in steals at 3.8 per game.
• Columbia and Pacific have met just one other time, which came on the final day of the 2023 calendar year in Stockton, California. The Lions dominated the first quarter, 27-11, and coasted to victory. Cecelia Collins scored a career-high 28 points.
