Collins Named Ivy League Player of the Week

Averaged 15.7 points, 6.3 assists, 5.3 rebounds, 2.7 steals
PRINCETON, N.J. – Columbia women's basketball senior Cecelia Collins has been named Ivy League Player of the Week for games played Nov. 18-24. The league's weekly awards, as voted on by media members, were announced Monday afternoon.
This is the first conference player-of-the-week award of Collins's career – she was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week four times as a freshman at Bucknell. The co-captain from Scranton, Pennsylvania had a monster week on the stat sheet, averaging 15.7 points, 6.3 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 2.7 steals to lead Columbia to a 2-1 week. She shot 56.3 percent from the field, 40 percent from three (4-10) and was a perfect 7-for-7 at the charity stripe.
For the season, Collins is averaging 14.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 1.4 steals and is shooting 53.5 percent from the floor. She ranks No. 2 in the Ivies in assists, as well as top 10 in the Ivies in both scoring and field goal percentage.
Riley Weiss was named to this week's Ivy League Honor Roll. The sophomore shooter averaged a team-best 19.7 points per game, connecting on a dozen threes across Columbia's three contests.
Columbia (5-2) takes on Ball State (5-1) in the consolation championship of the Battle 4 Atlantis later today at 5 p.m.

Collins began her week by scoring 18 points with a season-high eight assists and a career-high five steals in last Wednesday's 84-50 victory against Pacific. She hit 6-of-7 from the floor, including 4-of-5 from deep. She led all Lions with 17 points and four assists in a hard-fought battle against Indiana to open the Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis.
