Michael Zheng Helps Team USA Win Master’U BNP Paribas Championship

Zheng and Team USA went 3-0 at the event
REIMS, France – Junior Michael Zheng and Team USA took gold at the 2024 Master'U BNP Paribas Championship after posting a 3-0 record in the team competition. The U.S. took down Great Britain in the finals on Sunday, 4-1, with Zheng earning a three-set victory over James Story (3-6, 6-4, 10-7) to win the event for the fifth consecutive year.
Zheng and the United States defeated Germany to start the tournament on Friday and followed up with a 4-1 victory over France in the semifinals Saturday.
Known as "The World Event of University Tennis," the Master'U BNP Paribas Championship is in its 17th year. The tournament will once again welcome eight nations for several days of high-level competition between many of the top-ranked student-athletes from both NCAA institutions and other university systems around the world. The 2024 edition will be played from November 29 – December 1 in Reims, France at an indoor facility in the city.
Zheng was joined by Savannah Broadus (Pepperdine), Sebastian Gorzny (Texas), Amelia Honer (UCSB), Mary Stoiana (Texas A&M) and Gavin Young (Michigan).
