PRINCETON, N.J. – The Columbia men's swimming and diving team traveled to New Jersey to take part in the Big Al Invitational this weekend. After three days of competition, the Lions finished in fourth place with 714.50 points. Princeton came away with first place, scoring 1,090.50 points.

DAY ONE
The 200 free relay team got things started with a third place finish. Zion James, Adam Wu, Kevin Obochi, and Samuel Eckert clocked in at 1:19.99
In the first individual event of the day, Adam Wu finished in second place in the 500 free with a time of 4:19.93. Gian Santos was right behind him in sixth with a time of 4:23.76.
Zion James finished second in the 50 free with a time of 19.80, one tenth of a second behind first place. Wu was right behind him with a time of 20.01 to take third.

DAY TWO
Wu was the star of the show, winning the 200 free with a time of 1:35.20.
Andrew Fouty kicked off the day with an eighth place finish in the 100 fly clocking in at 48.21.
Santos won the B-finals of the 400 IM, leading the pack with a time of 3:52.22.
Demirkan Demir and Joshua Corn went 3-4 in the 100 breast. Demir led the way with a time of 52.86.
Isaac Beers placed seventh in the 100 back with a time of 47.92.

DAY THREE
Stephen Zhukov got things started by finishing third place in the 1650 free with a time of 15:11.22
Beers followed that up with a fifth place finish in the 200 back and time of 1:46.18.
James placed second in the 100 free, clocking in at 43.41. Wu and Eckert both also finished in the top eight.
Corn also earned a second place, clocking in at 1:54.92 in the 200 breast.
Ryan Makouar had one of his best performances as a Lion, taking seventh in the 200 fly with a time of 1:46.08.

DIVING
Meanwhile, on day one the men's divers competed in the 1m finals and Joseph Nicol had an impressive second place finish with a score of 298.55.
On day two, the men's divers took part in the 3m championship and Nicol once again led the way with a second place finish and score of 311.85.
On day three, Will Cooley stood out with a second place finish and score of 265.75 in the platform dive.
"Having little preparation, Will pulled out some amazing dives in a tough situation," Head Diving Coach Scott Donie said. "He is a force to reckon with."
ON DECK
Following this weekend, the Lions will take a break for the holidays before returning to action on January 11 against Brown at Uris Natatorium. This will also be Senior Day.
