Men's Swimming and Diving Concludes Regular Season Against Dartmouth

The Lions will host the Big Green on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Uris
NEW YORK — The Columbia men's swimming and diving team is set to close out the 2023-24 regular season on Saturday with an Ivy League meet against the Dartmouth Big Green at Uris Natatorium. The competition is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
SENIOR DAY
During the 10-minute break after the 100-fly which will be the 14th event of the afternoon, Columbia and Head Coach Jim Bolster will honor its group of six seniors who will be swimming in the final regular season meet of their careers on Saturday. This includes Noah Czelusta, Andy Huang, Nolan Kopp, Hunter Kroll, Stanford Li, and René Strezenicky.
"Tomorrow we honor our seniors; a group of individuals who embody all that is good about college athletics," Bolster said. "They are bright, hard-working, talented and they overcame COVID. I am convinced they will help make the world a better place."
LAST TIME OUT
Columbia took on Navy last weekend at Uris, but the Midshipmen emerged victorious by a score of 176-118.
Zach Vasser picked up the Lions' first victory of the afternoon, winning the 1000-free for the second consecutive meet. The first-year touched the wall with a time of 9:25.59 to take first place.
In the very next event, Adam Wu earned his first win of the day with a first-place finish in the 200-free, finishing with a time of 1:39.59. Wu put the finishing touches on a great meet when he went on to win the 500-free later in the afternoon with a time of 4:31.66.
Stanford Li continued his winning ways, this time with a victory in the 200-fly. He touched the wall with a time of 1:47.63 to take first.
Caleb Apodaca closed things out for the Lions with a win in the final individual event of the afternoon, winning the 200-IM with a time of 1:51.65

SCOUTING DARTMOUTH
The Big Green enter Saturday's meet with a 2-6 overall record, but an 0-6 record in the Ivy League. Most recently, Dartmouth was defeated by Yale, 224-76
Last time out, Dartmouth picked up a win against UMass at the Tate Ramsden Invitational.
Last season, the Big Green went 2-7 overall with an 0-7 record in the Ivy League. Dartmouth and Columbia faced off in February last year, with the Lions coming out on top 166.5-121.5. The Big Green went on to finish eighth at the Ivy League Championships.
Columbia has won the last 15 meetings with Dartmouth, dating back to 2006.

The Lions will now begin preparations for the Ivy League Championships which will begin on February 28 in Boston, Mass.
