Track & Field Ready for BU Invitational and Fastrack National Invite

Both meets begin on Friday
NEW YORK — The Columbia track and field team's indoor season continues this weekend as the Lions will compete in both the BU Valentine Invitational and the Fastrack National Invite. The former will be hosted by Boston University and begin on Friday at 11 a.m. and continue on Saturday, while the latter will take place at Ocean Breeze on Friday at 1 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
Last weekend, the Lions stayed local, competing at the METS Indoor Championships at Ocean Breeze in Staten Island. The Lions' earned two first-place finishes in the competition.
On the men's side, Justin Gottlieb won the 800m run with a time of 1:54.48.
On the women's side, it was Naomi Toft who earned a win in the 1000m with a time of 2:53.53.
Other top performers for the women include Sydney Goldson, who took third in the 500m with a time of 1:17.06, and Jessica Thompson, who secured second in the pole vault with a mark of 3.50m. Additionally, the distance medley relay team took first with a time of 12:15.25.
Other top performers for the men include Tyler Tubman, who took third in the 1000m with a time of 2:29.37. Parker Kim took third in the weight throw with a mark of 17.66m.

The Lions will look to continue this momentum into both meets this weekend.

With the Lions' regular indoor season now over, Columbia will prepare for the Ivy League Indoor Championships, which will be held from February 24-25 in Boston, Mass.
