Demirkan Demir tabbed Academic All-Ivy
BOSTON, Mass – Following the completion of the 2024 Men's Swimming and Diving Ivy League Championships last weekend, Demirkan Demir, along with the Lions' 400-medley relay squad, received recognition from the Ivy League.
The 400-medley relay team was named Second Team All-Ivy after an impressive second-place finish in the event. The squad consisted of Isaac Beers (47.00), Demir (51.84), Brian Lee (46.26), and Zion James (42.24), who combined for a time of 3:07.34 to win the silver medal. This mark also set a new Columbia program record.
In addition, Demir was named to the 2023-24 Academic All-Ivy Team. While excelling in the classroom so far this year, Demir also had an impressive showing at Ivies winning bronze medals in both the 100-breast and 200-breast to go along with his silver medal in the 400-medley relay.
