Track & Field Completes Penn Relays and Yale Springtime Invite

Zuriel Jimenez, Parker Kim win events in New Haven
NEW YORK — The Columbia track & field team completed its outdoor regular season this weekend with the conclusion of the Penn Relays and Yale Springtime Invite.
The highlight of the weekend came from the Penn Relays, where the Lions' Distance Medley Relay team set a new program record with a time of 11:00.38. The team consisted of Nikki Vanasse, Kennedi Poullard, Olivia Schmitt, and Phoebe Anderson. This time was also the third fastest in Ivy League history.
In the Yale Springtime Invite in New Haven on Sunday, Zuriel Jimenez led the way for the women with a first place finish in the javelin throw thanks to a mark of 33.15.
Parker Kim highlighted the men's team with a first place finish in the hammer throw with a mark of 59.31.
Meanwhile in Philadelphia, Yoosang Kim was the highest finisher of the weekend with a fifth place finish in the college shot put with a mark of 16.73m. In the championship shot put, Obiora Okeke finished 13th with a mark of 16.60m.
For the women, Norina Khanzada finished 14th in the high jump with a mark of 1.55m.

With the Lions' regular season now in the books, attention will turn toward Ivy League Outdoor Heps which will begin on Saturday, May 4 at 10 a.m. in Princeton, N.J.
