NEW YORK — All three Columbia rowing crews are set for races on Saturday from Overpeck Park in Leonia, N.J.
The women will race in the Saint Joseph's Invitational that features UMass, URI, and George Washington. In the morning, Columbia will face Marist and Navy before racing Saint Joseph's and UMass in the afternoon. Racing for the women's crew begins at 10:30 a.m. and will wrap up just after 3 p.m. The full schedule and results can be found by clicking here. A fan bus will depart campus at 9:50 a.m. and will return to campus at 1:30 p.m.
The heavyweight crew will defend the Collins Cup against Rutgers, a cup Columbia has won for 17 consecutive years. The Lions hold an 18-3 record over the Scarlet Knights since the debut of the race. The Collins Cup was a gift of Kevin and Helen Collins, both of whom are Rutgers graduates. Kevin Collins also holds a graduate degree from Columbia.
Heavyweight schedule:
8:40 - 3V - Columbia | Rutgers
9:00 - 2V - Columbia | Rutgers
9:20 - 1V - Columbia | Rutgers
The lightweight crew will host Navy and compete for the WIT Cup. The WIT (Whatever-It-Takes) Cup was revived in 2014 with Columbia winning it the first three times before Navy earned the win in 2017 at home. Since it was put back into rotation, the Lions lead the series 5-3.
Lightweight schedule:
