Lightweight, Heavyweight Rowing Complete Day Two of IRA National Championships

Lions advanced to two Finals; Varsity 4+ crew takes silver
WEST WINDSOR, N.J. — Columbia lightweight and heavyweight rowing completed day two of the 121st annual Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships at Mercer Lake on Saturday.
In Final 1, the Varsity 4+ crew won silver with a time of 6:27.443. The Lions finished 3.356 seconds behind Georgetown. In Semi-Final 3, the heavyweight varsity 8+ boat placed first with a time of 5:43.125. The Lions will race in Final 3 on Sunday at 9:20. The heavyweight varsity second 8+ boat also raced to a first-place finish in Semi-Final 4, earning a spot in Final 3 at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
The second lightweight varsity 4+ boat raced on Saturday as well. In Final 2, Columbia's Varsity 4+ crew placed second behind Princeton with a time of 6:30.094.
