The Columbia softball team plays its final regular-season road series this weekend when the Lions travel to Philadelphia for a three-game series at Penn. The series begins with a doubleheader on Saturday with game one scheduled for a 12:30 p.m first pitch. The Lions enter this game red hot at the plate. Last weekend, they hit .369 as a team in the road series win over Cornell. Sarah Mikami led the way, hitting .636 (7-for-11) with four home runs and nine driven in. For her efforts, she was named the Ivy League Player of the Week for the second time in her career. A series win this weekend would all but assure the Lions clinch their spot in the top four of the Ivy League standings and a place in the Ivy League Tournament. At 9-6 in Ivy League play, Columbia is currently in third place in the Ivy League standings. Penn (16-21, 7-8 Ivy) is currently in fourth place in the Ivy League and is coming off a series defeat at the hands of Harvard, but avoided the sweep with a 9-8 win on Sunday. At home this year, the Quakers are 9-5.

The 22nd-ranked Columbia men's tennis team returns to the road this week when they battle No. 29 Cornell in Ithaca with plenty at stake. Last Sunday, the Lions clinched a share of the Ivy League crown with a 4-1 win over Dartmouth - it is Columbia's 19th Ivy League title and third consecutive title. A win on Saturday against the 29th-ranked Big Red would give Columbia its 14th outright Ivy League title and the automatic bid for the NCAAs. Cornell (17-3, 5-1 Ivy) is currently riding a five-match winning streak and is 8-0 at the Reis Tennis Center this year. Saturday's match between the Lions and Big Red is scheduled for a 1 p.m. first serve.
