Field Hockey Announces 2024 Captains

Lindsey Yu, Lily Baker, and Katie Wimmer comprise the leadership committee for the Lions
NEW YORK — Columbia field hockey coach Niki Miller has announced Lindsey Yu, Lily Baker, and Katie Wimmer as the program's 2024 captains.
Yu started in all 16 games for the Lions last season and will enter her second year as a captain. The senior from Montville, New Jersey was tied for the team lead in points (11), shots on goal (16), and assists (three).
Baker also started all 16 games for Columbia in 2023. The senior from St. Louis, Missouri has appeared in 50 games in her Lions career, making 49 starts and netting a goal.
Wimmer started 15 games in the cage last year and was tabbed All-Ivy League Honorable Mention and Columbia's Academic All-Ivy recipient. The senior from Windham, New Hampshire led the Ivy League and ranked fourth in the country with 7.53 saves per game in 2023.
The Lions begin the 2024 season on Sept. 6 at UMass at 3 p.m. Columbia's home opener is set for Sept. 13 vs. LIU at 6 p.m.
