PARIS — Former Columbia rower Skyler Espinoza '17BC is set to compete in the 2024 Paralympics with Team USA and Hannah Chadwick in Para Cycling Track.
Espinoza qualified for the Women's B 1000m Time Trial Final after a top six finish in the qualifier with a time of 1:09.581. The tandem duo will race in the finals which are set for 10:34 a.m. Espinoza's races can be watched live on Peacock by clicking here. The results can be found here with all races taking place at National Velodrome.
Specializing in track cycling and competing in the WB class, Chadwick and Espinoza have experienced a meteoric rise in the sport since they made their first major international appearance as a team at the 2023 UCI Para-Cycling World Championships, where they took bronze in the sprint. They also teamed for a Parapan American Games title this past winter in Santiago, Chile.
Espinoza, a Freeport, Maine, native, walked on at Columbia in 2014 and rowed for four years. She graduated with a B.A. in Russian Literature and Language in 2017 before joining Stanford rowing for the 2018 season. Espinoza then served at Stanford as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator.
