NEW YORK — The Columbia women's swimming and diving team is set to host its final home meet of the 2024-25 season at Uris Natatorium on Tuesday night against the Brown Bears. The competition is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
SENIOR DAY
Prior to the meet, Columbia and Head Coach
Diana Caskey will honor his group of 10 seniors who will be swimming in the final home meet of their careers on Tuesday. This includes
Hannah Hailu,
Ashley Hu,
Emily MacDonald,
Allison Martin,
Aastha Mehta,
Macy Pine,
Riley Pujadas,
Julia Unas,
Taylor Whang, and
Anthea Wong.
LAST TIME OUT
The Lions closed out the 2024 portion of their schedule taking on Princeton at the Big Al Invite. Despite the loss to the Tigers, Columbia had a ton of impressive swims.
On day two,
Ashley Hu stole the show, winning the 100-breast with a stellar time of 1:01.58.
Natalia Diaz placed third in the same event with a time of 1:03.24.
In the first event of the weekend, the 200 free relay team got things started with a second place finish.
Emily MacDonald,
Sally Ma,
Isabel Lee, and
Audrey Wolk clocked in at 1:31.79.
MacDonald continued her sprinting prowess, coming in second in the 50 free with a time of 22.63.
On day three, Hu had one of the best finishes of the day, placing third in the 200 breast with a time of 2:15.11.
Allison Martin also took third in the 200 fly, clocking in at 2:00.67.
SCOUTING BROWN
The Bears are 3-3 so far this season, with a 2-3 mark in Ivy League competitions. The win came against Dartmouth and Penn, while the three losses came to Harvard, Yale and Princeton. Last time out, Brown finished in first place at the Bruno Invite hosted at Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center in Providence. Last year, Brown finished 4-3 overall with a 4-3 mark in the Ivy League, including a 197-103 win over Columbia.

The order of events for the women's meet: 3M diving, 200 medley relay, 1000 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 100 backstroke, 100 breaststroke, 200 butterfly, 50 freestyle, 1M diving, 100 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 200 breaststroke, 500 freestyle, 100 butterfly - 10-minute break - 400 individual medley, 200 freestyle relay.
ON DECK
The Lions will have a quick turnaround, making the trip north to Ithaca, N.Y. on Thursday at 3 p.m. against Cornell for the first of three road meets to close the season.
