Squash Sends Six to CSA Individual Championships

Competition begins Saturday at Open Squash-FiDi

NEW YORK – Columbia squash players Shaurya Bawa, Arhan Chandra, Imad Athar, Varun Fuloria, Simmi Chan and Eva Salzman will represent the Lions at the 2025 College Squash Association (CSA) Individual Championships starting Saturday at Open Squash-FiDi in New York City.

SCHEDULE AND LOCATION
The first two rounds of the Pool Trophy (Men) and the Ramsay Cup (Women) will be played on Saturday at Open Squash-FiDi. Play will resume Sunday at Open Squash for the quarterfinals. The semifinals on Monday and the finals on Tuesday will be played on the Tournament of Champions Court inside Vanderbilt Hall at Grand Central Station.
 
The Lions in the Molloy (Men) and Holleran (Women) draws will play their first match Saturday at Open Squash-FiDi. The semifinals and finals will be played Sunday also at Open Squash.
 
THE POOL TROPHY
Shaurya Bawa and Arhan Chandra from the men's squash team will compete in the Pool Trophy bracket for a chance to earn All-American status and compete for a national title. Bawa will face Drexel's Haris Qasim in the first round Saturday at 10:40 a.m. while Chandra will meet Yale's Lachlan Sutton in the first round at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
 
THE RAMSAY CUP
2023 National Champion Simmi Chan is back in the Ramsay Cup draw to compete for the second title of her collegiate career. As the No. 2 overall seed in the Ramsay Cup bracket, Chan will play Drexel's Moa Bonnemark in the first round Saturday at 9:50 a.m.
 
THE MOLLOY AND HOLLERAN CUPS
On the men's side, Imad Athar and Varun Fuloria will represent Columbia in the B Division playing in the Molloy Cup bracket. Eva Salzman will represent the women's squad in the B Division by playing in the Holleran Cup East Draw.
 
Athar will meet Dylan Moran (Virginia) in the first round of the Molloy Cup South Division at 1:10 p.m. Saturday. Fuloria will play in the Molloy Cup North Division and will face Harvard's Jacob Lin at 1:10 p.m. Saturday. Salzman will get underway by playing Georgetown's Cecilia Curran at 2 p.m. Saturday.
