LAST TIME OUT
Powered by a second-half brace from sophomore midfielder Annie Faraone, Columbia women's soccer battled back from a two-goal deficit to earn a thrilling 2-2 draw last time out against Penn.

The Quakers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half behind goals from Abbey Cook and Magali Capdevila, but Columbia controlled the match after the break, outshooting Penn 14-1 in the second half and earning eight corner kicks.

Faraone began the comeback in the 71st minute, setting up from distance and firing from outside the box, finding the bottom right corner of the goal. Then in the 82nd, she struck again, slotting home the equalizer in a scramble drill in front of the net to complete the rally and secure a hard-earned draw for the Lions.

For her efforts, Faraone was named Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week, Columbia's first weekly honor of the season.

SCOUTING PENN
Yale enters the weekend with a 3-8 overall record and a 1-3 mark in Ivy League play. After beginning the season 2-0 with impressive non-conference wins over Vermont and Hofstra, the Bulldogs lost seven straight matches before picking up a 1-0 win over Princeton the first week of October. Yale is coming off a 0-2 loss to top-seeded Harvard last Sunday.

In 2024, Yale posted an 8-7-1 overall mark and went 2-4-1 in Ivy League play. Columbia beat the Bulldogs 3-2 in New Haven, and eliminated them from postseason contention. The Lions have won five of the last six matches against Yale, with the Bulldogs' last victory in NYC coming in 2017.

Vienna Lundstedt leads the team with five goals and 12 points on the season, while Anita Thorvaldsdottir has chipped in three goals. In net, Kyla Holmes has started all 11 games and has made 61 saves with a 2.09 GAA.
