Women’s Basketball Continues NYC Tour Saturday Against Wagner

Lions and Seahawks meeting for a third straight year
NEW YORK – The Columbia women's basketball team (5-4) plays in front of its home crowd for the first time in nearly two weeks when it hosts Wagner (2-5) on Saturday. Opening tip from Schiller Court at Levien Gymnasium is scheduled for 2 p.m.
The women's basketball game is the front end of a Columbia basketball doubleheader on Saturday. The men's team hosts UAlbany at 5:30 p.m. Tickets to both games can be purchased ahead of time at GoColumbiaLions.com/tickets.
BROADCAST INFORMATION

OPENING TIPS
• Columbia is coming off its most dominant win of the season on Wednesday in the Bronx, crushing Manhattan, 84-38. The Lions went on a 24-0 run that spanned the final five minutes of the first quarter and the opening five minutes of the second. Perri Page had a game-high 15 points to go with eight rebounds and three steals. Sophomore Nasi Simmons scored a career-high 12 points, 10 of which came in the second quarter.
• In the Megan Griffith era, Columbia is 8-1 against opposing teams that call NYC home. The Lions have won seven straight against competition from the five boroughs, a winning streak that dates back to 2018.
• Perri Page ranks No. 1 in the Ivy League in field goal percentage (.560), No. 2 in steals (2.7), No. 4 in rebounds (7.0) and No. 6 in scoring (14.2). She is one of six players in the country to average at least 14.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game. Two of those players include reigning All-Americans Sarah Strong (UConn) and Madison Booker (Texas). Among the six, only Page and Strong are shooting 50% or better from the field.
• Riley Weiss was named the Ivy League Player of the Week on Monday. In her three games at the Cancun Challenge, Weiss averaged 27.3 points, shot 48% from the field and 42% (11-26) from 3-point range. She had a game-high 30 against K-State, a season-high 31 against South Dakota State, and a game-high 21 against UNC. She was named to the Cancun Challenge All-Tournament team.
• Weiss (19.4) is the Ivy League's top scorer. She ranks 17th in the NCAA in total points (175) and top 30 in points per game. Perri Page (14.2) and Susie Rafiu (12.4) also rank top 10 in the Ivy League in scoring.
• Columbia leads the Ivy League in assists per game (15.9), steals per game (11.9), and turnovers forced per game (19.22), as well as free throws made (13.78) and attempted (18.89) per game.
