Obiora Okeke Named Ivy League Men's ITF Athlete of the Week

Okeke had historic performance at the METS Indoor Championships
PRINCETON, N.J. – Columbia men's track & field star Obiora Okeke was named Ivy League Men's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday after a historic performance at the METS Indoor Championships at Ocean Breeze last weekend.
Okeke was named the Outstanding Performer of the Championship, with help from a first place finish in the shot put with a mark of 19.25m.
This mark is a new Columbia program record for the event, which was previously set by Okeke just last week at the Dr. Sander Scorcher at 18.61m.
The mark of 19.25m is also tied for 11th in the entire NCAA this season.
His success also continued in the weight throw, where he finished second in with a mark of 19.78m

On February 6th, the Lions are back in action, sending student-athletes to compete in the 117th Millrose Games at The Armory that will begin at 1:00 p.m.
