The Lions hit the road on Saturday, for a rematch against the Villanova Wildcats. Last season, Columbia defeated Villanova in a massive upset at Kraft Field. This was the Lions' first win over the Wildcats in program history, and just the third win of all-time against a Big East opponent. It was the first win against a Big East team since 2019 when the Lions took down UConn in New York City who Columbia will host again next week. Anna Becker and Dani Falcone had four goals each in the game, and Cecelia Messner also had a hat trick. Michelle Zhai had five points, with four assists. Leslie Iorio and Sydney Pappas have 17 goals each to lead Villanova this season. Last time out, the Lions dropped their Ivy Opener to #4 Yale. Becker led the way for the Lions offense with her four points, all on goals. Messner had three points of her own, scoring one and assisting on two of Becker's goals. Falcone had two points, both on assists. Columbia will look for another big win, before returning to NYC for two games next week.
