Men’s Golf Prepares for Daytona Beach Intercollegiate

15-team field competes Monday-Tuesday
NEW YORK — The Columbia men's golf team takes on the field at the Dayton Beach Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday. The 15-team event will be held at the Arthur Hills Course of LPGA International Golf Club in Daytona Beach, Florida.
The Lions will send five to compete in the 54-hole tournament. Those five are first-year Grant Lester, senior Wyatt McGovern, junior George Rubelsky, junior Darren Pang and sophomore Hunter Po.
The Hills Course is a par 72 that will be set at 7,015 yards. There are 88 players representing 15 teams in the field. Those teams are Austin Peay State, Campbell, Central Arkansas, Central Florida, Columbia, Florida Atlantic, Georgia State, Jacksonville State, North Alabama, Oakland, Stetson, Troy, UNCW, West Georgia and Wright State.
Columbia is coming off a fourth-place finish at The Savannah Intercollegiate (Feb. 15-16). The Lions were 7-under for the tournament, which was shortened to 36 holes due to inclement weather. Lester led the way, tying for eighth at 5-under (68, 71). McGovern (-3) earned a top 20.
Live results for this weekend will be available through Leaderboard King. Pairings for Monday morning are posted on the website. The first round begins at 8 a.m. Tuesday's final round tees off at 7:30 a.m.
