Track & Field Completes Three-Meet Weekend

Lions continue strong start to outdoor season
NEW YORK — After opening the season last weekend, the Columbia outdoor track & field team's season continued this weekend with three meets on schedule.
Thursday to Saturday, the various groups of athletes competed at the Raleigh Relays, the Monmouth Season Opener, and the Navy Outdoor Invitational.
The Lions' most success came at the Navy Outdoor Invitational, where they had multiple first place finishes.
Sydney Goldson won the 400m dash, clocking in at 56.34.
The women's 4x100m relay team also took first, finishing with a time of 46.33. This team consisted of Sean O'Brien, Kylie Castillo, Olivia Sterling, and Josie Rempe.
Norina Khanzada was victorious in the high jump, finishing with a mark of 1.60m, while Madison Williams won the long jump with a mark of 5.77m.
On the men's side, Caden Cutchall won the 400m dash with a time of 48.64.
Collin Moore won the high jump with a mark of 1.90m.
Jaden Ebanks concluded the meet with a win in the long jump, finishing with a mark of 7.08m.
Rory Clare had the best finish at the Raleigh Relays, finishing eighth in the 1500m with a time of 4:16.32. On the men's side, Matt Gatune led the way finishing 14th in the 1500m with a time of 3:40.34.
Parker Kim showed out at the Monmouth Season Opener, taking first place in the hammer throw with a personal best mark of 60.74m. Obiora Okeke took third with a mark of 57.29m. Jada Mia Puryear topped the women's team with a fifth place finish in the discus with a mark of 46.45m.
