CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — Five members of the Columbia women's golf team have been named to the 2024-25 WGCA All-American Scholar Team. The five Lions receiving the honor are Lauren Lee, Emily Luo, Sarah Shao, Emma Shen and Yoko Tai.
The WGCA's academic honors mark the third of both Shen's and Tai's careers, both of whom are rising seniors on next year's team. Lee, a rising junior, picked up her first such honor. Rising sophomores Luo and Shao also earned their first WGCA academic honors.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics, requiring a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50. The recipient must also be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season and have played in 50 percent of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
