NEW YORK – The Columbia cross country team opened the 2025 season on Saturday morning at the Fordham Fiasco hosted by the Rams at Van Cortlandt Park.
Both the men and women impressed, finishing in second place. The men totaled 34 points while the women totaled 39 points. Yale won both events, with the men posting 23 points and the women posting 26 points.
Lucy Henkel paced the Lions, coming in third place in the 5k with a time of 20:20.40.
Meredith Wolfe was right behind her in fourth place with a time of 20:22.00.
Maggie Boler rounded out the top 10 with a seventh place finish and time of 20:27.80.
On the men's side,
Ralph Brown led the way in the 8k with a fourth place finish and time of 29:08.20. The Lions also had 5-7, consisting of
Nicholas Hayden (29:08.30),
Tyler Tubman (29:08.30), and
Justin Gottlieb (29:24.60).

The Lions are right back at it next weekend, returning to VCP for the Iona Meet of Champions on Friday at 10 a.m.
