LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Columbia Cross Country continued its competitive fall campaign at the Louisville Cross Country Classic on Saturday morning at the E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park.
Senior Rory Clare once again paced the Lions, finishing 10th in the women's 5k competition clocking 16:57.5, marking her second-straight top-10 performance this season. Sophomore Olivia Murray crossed in 17:25.3 while first-year Ava Malagisi clocked 17:34.4 for 28th. Junior Leanna Johnston added a 35th-place finish (17:40.0), and senior Daniela Quintero rounded out Columbia's top five in 40th (17:44.8).
On the men's side, senior Edward Blaha led the way in the 8k race finishing with a season best time of in 23:59.8. Fellow senior Brett Bishop crossed in 30th (24:30.8), followed by Henry Koike-Sieira in 41st (24:40.0) and senior George Blaha in 57th (24:54.7) to close out the Lions' top five.
Columbia returns to action on October 11 at the Mets Cross Country Championships, hosted by NJIT at Branch Brook Park in Newark, N.J.
