Women's Swimming & Diving Falls to Brown

Bears defeat the Lions, 244-56
PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The Columbia women's swimming and diving team opened the 2026 calendar on Saturday afternoon, traveling to Brown for an Ivy League dual meet. The Lions competed throughout the day but fell to the Bears, 244–56, in their first meet of the new year.
For the divers, Lera Bondarenko led the way on the 1m boards with a score of 246.45 which was good for third place. Lily Sherman finished fifth with a score of 238.65. Bondarenko went on to take fifth on the 3m boards with a score of 225.15 to pace Columbia.
"A strong performance from Lera and Lily on the 1-meter," Head Diving Coach Scott Donie said. "We are excited to get back to work and improve as we prepare for Cornell next week."

The Lions will return home next weekend for an Ivy meet against Cornell on Friday at 4 p.m. in Uris Natatorium.
