
Women's Swimming & Diving Hosts Cornell Friday Evening

For the first time at Uris Natatorium, the meet will be streamed via ESPN+
Spectators without a valid Columbia University ID or a registered QR code must enter the Uris Swim Center Balcony through the Northwest Corner Building at W120th & Broadway.

LAST TIME OUT
Columbia opened the 2026 calendar last Saturday afternoon, traveling to Brown for an Ivy League dual meet. The Lions competed throughout the day but fell to the Bears, 244–56, in their first meet of the new year.
Several Lions turned in strong individual performances throughout the meet. Shaelyn Shields led the Lions in the backstroke events, placing third in the 100 back (55.97), while also adding points in the 400 IM. Hong delivered key points in the breaststroke events, finishing third in the 100 breast (1:03.01) and placing fourth in the 200 IM (2:04.03).
In the distance events, Jilly MacNamara paced Columbia with a third-place finish in the 500 freestyle (5:00.48), followed closely by Madeleine Rivard in fourth. Lorelai Page and Lindsay Orringer added points for the Lions in the 200 backstroke, placing fourth and fifth, respectively.

SCOUTING CORNELL
The Big Red are 1-5 so far this season, and 0-5 in Ivy meets. Both Columbia and Cornell will be in search of their first conference victory, with the Big Red's sole win coming against St. Bonaventure. Most recently, they lost to Yale, 192-108, to kick off 2026. Last year at Ivies, Cornell finished in last place.
