OPENING TIPS
• Columbia is seeking its first Ivy League Tournament Championship in what is its fifth straight appearance and sixth straight qualification (the 2020 tournament was canceled due to COVID-19). The Lions advanced to the championship game in 2022, 2024 and 2025. Last year was the closest they came to winning it, tied with Harvard 65-65 with 3:00 left, but ultimately falling, 74-71.
• This will be the fifth postseason meeting in the last four seasons between Columbia and Harvard. Their first postseason meeting came in the 2023 Ivy League semifinals at Princeton, which Harvard won in overtime, 72-65. The Lions avenged that loss in the 2023 WNIT Great Eight, 77-71, on a run to the WNIT Championship Game. In 2024, Columbia hosted Ivy Madness and defeated the Crimson in the semis, 63-61. Harvard then won last year's Ivy Madness Championship Game in Providence, 74-71. Over those four postseason meetings, the two sides are separated by just two points, 278-276, with an average margin of victory of 4.5 points.
• Riley Weiss was named Ivy League Player of the Year and voted a unanimous First Team All-Ivy League selection. She earned a league-best six Player of the Week awards, becoming the seventh player in league history to earn as many in a season. Weiss leads the Ivy League in scoring (19.7), total points (531), 3-pointers made per game (2.81), total threes (76), 3-point percentage (36.5%) and total field goals made (189). Nationally, she ranks inside the Top 20 in scoring average and 3-pointers made per game.
• Perri Page was named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year and voted First Team All-Ivy League. She is one of two players in the NCAA to average as many points, rebounds, steals, assists and shoot as high as she does from the field, along with UConn's Sarah Strong. Page ranks No. 6 in the Ivies in scoring (14.5), No. 9 in rebounding (6.2), No. 2 in field goal percentage (54.3%) and led the league in both total steals (66) and steals per game (2.4). Her FG percentage is top 40 in the NCAA, and her steals average is top 60.
ALL-IVY NOTES
