Gayathri Krishnan earns first-team honors for the second time
PRINCETON, N.J. – Four Columbia women's tennis student-athletes: junior Gayathri Krishnan (First Team Singles), sophomore Emily Baek (Second Team Singles), Krishnan and Sabrina Lin (Honorable Mention Doubles) and Sophia Wang and Baek (Honorable Mention Doubles), all earned Women's Tennis All-Ivy accolades, the conference office announced on Thursday afternoon.
"This was a special season for us," head coach Ilene Weintraub said. "From top to bottom, the team competed with confidence and resilience, and it showed in the results. Sophia and Emily were outstanding as a doubles pair, going 16–1, and Gayathri continuing to earn First Team All-Ivy singles honors for the second straight year really speaks to her elite level of play. The coaches' group recognizing Emily Baek is especially meaningful—as it highlights her dedication and improvement this season, and she came through with some very crucial matches for us at the No. 2 singles position. Sabrina getting noticed as a first-year is especially exciting as we look towards the future. These honors are well deserved and reflect the hard work this team put in all year."
This is the second-consecutive year that Krishnan has earned First Team All-Ivy honors. The 2025 Ivy League Player of the Year went 24-8 this year. In the spring, she was 12-3 playing in the Lions No. 1 spot. In Ivy League matches, she went 3-2, including wins over Brown and Yale.
Baek earns all-conference honors for the first time in her career. In singles play, she notched a career-best 14 wins. Baek opened the spring as the No. 4 spot for the Lions' but climbed up to No. 2 where she finished the year 3-2. In Ivy League play, she notched three crucial wins - including a straight-sets win against Yale that allowed the Loins to come back from a 2-0 deficit.
In doubles play, Baek went 20-5 on the year. With playing partner Sophia Wang, she went 16-1, including a 4-1 record in the Ivy League.
Wang earns all-conference honors in doubles play for the second time in her brilliant career. She was named First Team doubles in 2024. Wang went 18-3 in doubles in 2025-26. Wang also earned All-Academic honors for the second time in her career.
First-year Sabrina Lin partnered with Krishnan to earn Honorable Mention in doubles. Lin went 10-5 playing with Krishnan. The duo started the year 4-0 at the Lions' No. 2 doubles and moved up to the No 1, where they picked up crucial wins against Penn and Dartmouth in Ivy League play.
Columbia awaits its postseason fate when the NCAA Tournament bracket is announced on Monday afternoon on NCAA.com. The NCAA Women's Tennis Selection Show is scheduled at 4:30 p.m. ET.
