
Haydn Brotschi Advances to NCAA Eastern Prelims

Track and Field continues competition throughout the week
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Haydn Brotschi qualified for the men's 400m quarterfinals after finishing with a time of 45.57 as the Lions continue to compete at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field NCAA Championship Eastern Prelims at the University of Kentucky's Outdoor Track & Field Complex.
The competition spans four days and will conclude on Saturday, May 30. After posting a top-48 mark in their respective events this season, all five Lions will be looking to finish in the top-12 in those events this week and punch their ticket to the NCAA Championship finals next month in Oregon.
Brotschi moved one step closer to Eugene as the senior was third to cross the finish line in his heat of the 400m, clocking 45.57. He will look to finish in the top-12 of the quarterfinals on Friday at 6:50 p.m to secure his spot in the NCAA Championships.
SCHEDULE
On Thursday, Lucy Henkel opens Columbia's slate in the women's 800m first round at 7:50 p.m. If she advances, quarterfinals will be at 7:05 p.m. Friday.
Edward Blaha is scheduled to compete in the men's 5,000m semifinals on Friday at 8:10 p.m.
