Was the second best Lion finisher at the NCAA Division I Northeast Region Cross Country Championships (Nov. 9), finishing the 10K in 33rd place with a time of 33:47.2. (Indoor) Hit a PR time of 8:31.02 in the 3,000-Meter Run, finishing 28th at the Dr. Sander Columbia Challenge (Jan. 24-26). (Outdoor) Finished seventh at the Colonial Relays in the 10,000-Meter Run, crossing with a PR time of 30:38.62 ... Clocked a PR time of 14:51.99 in the 5,000m at the Virginia Challenge (Apr. 4-6) ... 2017-18 (Junior): (XC) Finished fifth at the Columbia XC Invite (Sept. 8), running the Five Mile Run in 26:55.7 and crossing the line as the top Lion finisher ... Ran the Five-Mile in 26:56.7 at the Ivy League Cross Country Heps (Oct. 27) ... Set a PR in the Five-Mile at the IC4A/ECAC XC Championships (Nov. 19), finishing with a time of 25:69.2 and a 27th place overall finish ... Crossed the line as the top Columbia finisher in the 10K at the NCAA Division I Northeast Region Cross Country Championships (Nov. 10), finishing 29th overall with a PR time of 32:45.2. 2016-17 (Sophomore): (XC) Started the season off with a 20th place finish at the Iona Br. Paddy Doyle Meet of Champions (Sept. 16) where his 8K time of 26:31.7 helped lead the Lions to a fifth place team finish … Completed the Paul Short Open 8K in a PR time of 24:54.0 earning a 13th place overall finish. (Indoor) Ran the 3,000m in 8:54.34 at the Fastrack National Invite (Feb. 10), in lone race of the indoor season. (Outdoor) Collected a top finish in the 5,000m at the Yale Springtime Invitational (Apr. 30), finishing fifth with a time of 15:18.23.
2015-16 (First-Year): (XC) Opened collegiate campaign with what is still a PR time of 19:55.6 in the 6.1K at the Brother Jasper XC invite (Sept. 11) ... Set a PR in the 5K, finishing fifth with a time of 27:22.2 in Columbia's win at the IC4A/ECAC XC Championships (Nov. 21). (Indoor) Began indoor career at the Ramapo College Indoor Select (Jan. 30) with a PR time of 4:21.95 in the One Mile Run, finishing fourth in the process ... Collected a seventh place finish (8:45.13) at the NYC Metro Champs (Feb. 4-5) in the 3,000-Meter Run and a 10th place finish (8:33.82) at the Fastrack National Invite (Feb. 12) in the same distance race. (Outdoor) Recorded a sixth place finish in the 5,000-Meter Run (15:17.10) at the Yale Springtime Invitational (May 1) ... Set a PR time of 4:05.37 in the 1,500-Meter Race at the Swarthmore Final Qualifier (May 16).
Personal: Schumacher comes to Columbia with personal bests of 4:21.38 in the 1600m and 9:36.70 in the 3200m ... Plans on studying architecture at Columbia College ... Took seventh at the 2014 New England Cross Country Championships ... The son of Christian and Patricia Schumacher.
