PRINCETON, N.J. -- First-year Justin Reardon scored 460.87 to set a school record for the platform dive at the Princeton Invitational. The Bloomington, Minn. native broke the mark of 454.88 set by Scott Troob '04 in 2003. Reardon's score also qualifies him for the NCAA Regional Championships on all three boards.
Head diving coach Gordon Spencer noted, "It was a very mature performance. We've never had a freshman participate in the platform at Columbia. He has a lot of potential."
Reardon also finished second of 17 on the three-meter springboard. He scored 252.60 to finish behind Rutgers' Jared Bench, who totalled 290.65. Columbia first-year Dean Spirito was 11th with 177.55.
On the 1m, Reardon took fourth of 18 with a score of 238.30, was Spirito was 13th (186.75).
