Born Noah Layton on September 24, 2001 in Minneapolis, Minn. … Son of Arthur and Pamela Layton … Has a younger sister Lindsey … Both of his parents attended the University of Minnesota … Father played football at Minnesota in the 1990s (defensive lineman) and graduated in 1993 … Grandfather John Henderson played football at Michigan and in the NFL with the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings in the 1960s-1970s … Role model is his grandfather because he always makes good decisions … Nickname is “Big Fella’ … Sang in an acapella group all through high school … Favorite part of playing football is his team coming together to accomplish a common goal … Favorite sports memory was his team winning a state championship during his freshman season … Knew he wanted to attend Columbia the minute he stepped on campus because it felt like the place for him … Chose Columbia because of its great combination of football, education, and environment … Chose Columbia over offers from Dartmouth and Chicago and was recruited by South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota and North Dakota State … Enrolled at Columbia College … Has future plans to become a corporate lawyer and intends to major in Economics/Philosophy.
