A former standout singles and doubles player for the Lions, Bogdan Borta has served as a volunteer assistant coach for Columbia men's tennis for the past two years.  

Borta played singles and doubles for the Lions from 2007-2009.  Borta ranked #1 in doubles and #2 in singles in the NCAA Division I Northeast region.  He was a member of Columbia's 2009 Ivy League championship team, earning first team singles and doubles honors.  Borta won the 2007 Northeast Regional championship in doubles and was the runner-up in the 2008 Northeast Regional singles championship.

Borta gradated from Columbia in 2009 with a major in economics. He was a tennis professional at both Westchester Country Club and River Club (2007-2010).  From 2003-2005, Borta played professional tennis in the Satellite Circuit and Futures in Europe leading to a year-end ATP Tour ranking. 

He was recently named General Manager and Director of Tennis at Chris Morley Tennis in Roslyn, Long Island.
