Robert Marchetti joined the Columbia track & field staff in the fall of 2009, and works with Columbia’s pole vaulters.
Marchetti, an alumnus of the University of New Mexico, was a WAC conference champion in the high jump in 1993, and has built an impressive coaching resume since his graduation that has included over 15 years of experience on nearly every possible level. Marchetti got his start on the high school level, but from there, a three-year stint as the head coach at Mercer County Community college led to an assistant position at NCAA Division I Rider University. Marchetti also spent a year at Murray State Univeristy, where he led the field events group to an individual conference champion, six runners up, and two NCAA regional qualifiers.
Most recently, Marchetti has spent time as the assistant track & field coach at the Shore Athletic Club of New Jersey.
