At Columbia: Finishes career 80-43 with a 8-5 Ivy League record…advanced to NCAA Championships after placing third at Easterns…was 5-1 at the EIWAs, defeating David Nakasone (Lehigh) 3-1 in overtime for third…was fourth at the Keystone Classic…beat Tom Fazio (Brown) 2-0 in dual meet…“Devin is going to have a huge year,” Brendan Buckley says. “He is one of the most technical wrestlers I have ever coached” … superb athlete, with great leg attacks … spent the entire summer and much of the past year training … competed in several tournaments, including the Midlands, where he defeated Travis Picard of The Citadel, currently ranked ninth nationally … 27-12 in 2004-05, 8-3 in dual meets … nine of his victories were major decisions … 3-1 in the Ivy League to earn first team All-Ivy League honors … won N.Y. State Championships and took second in both East Stroudsburg and Empire State opens … won four of five in the EIWA Championships to gain third place and automatic bid to NCAA Championships … posted EIWA wins over wrestlers from Harvard, Cornell, Navy and Rutgers, two by major decision and one in overtime, losing narrowly to American’s Muzaffar Abdurakhmanov, 6-4 … lost bouts to Purdue and Oregon State men in the NCAA’s … as a sophomore, was 26-13, 4-1 in the Ivy League … honorable mention All-Ivy League … placed in four tournaments, highlighted by a second in the Michigan State Open … fourth in the Southern Scuffle, fifth in the East Stroudsburg Open, and fifth in the EIWA Championships … went 14-7 in his first year of collegiate competition … placed third at East Stroudsburg.
