Women's Tennis Defeats UMBC, 5-2

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Marlena Hall and Nina Suda won at #2 doubles to give Columbia the doubles point and propel the Lions to a 5-2 victory over UMBC at the Richard Savitt Tennis Center. Columbia is now 1-2 in dual matches this season.
Kara Worsley and Angela Hendry lost at #1 doubles, 8-6 and UMBC defaulted at #3 singles, so the doubles point came down to the #2 doubles spot. Hall and Suda won 8-0 to give the Lions the point.
Hendry fell at #1, 6-7, 6-2, 6-4, while Sydney Murray won at #2 singles, 6-2, 7-5. Hall lost at #3, 6-4, 6-2 and Lauren Shearer won at #4, 6-2, 6-0.
Senior captain Eunice Chao won at the #5 spot 6-0, 6-0 and UMBC defaulted at the #6 singles spot to give Columbia the 5-2 victory.
