NEW YORK, N.Y. - First-year Ron Williams was named Rookie of the Week, Ivy League officials announced. The first baseman had at least one RBI in each of the four games against Cornell and went 4-for-8 with five RBI in the two Columbia wins.

Williams hit .333 over five games with three extra base hits, one a two-run triple, and led the Lions with seven RBI. In the four game series with Cornell, he hit .375 and in the two Columbia victories, was 2-for-3 with three RBI and 2-for-5 with two RBI.

This is Williams' first collegiate honor.
