Men's Golf Finishes Fifth at Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, IND. -- The men's golf team had a strong showing at the Notre Dame Invitational, with first-year Austin Quinten finishing tied for fourth overall. The Lions finished fifth of nine teams and moved up a spot in the final round.
Quinten and Gus Guartararo finished at par in round two. Quartararo finished tied for 23rd overall.
"Overall I think this was a huge step for us this season" head coach Rich Mueller said. "We played well and improved each round. This is definitely what we were looking for heading into the Ivy League Championship. "
Quinten finished just two strokes behind the individual winners from Northwestern and Notre Dame. Northwestern won the Invitational, while Notre Dame finished second. Cleveland State rounded out the top three.
